We’re excited to invite you to STEEL RALLY, which takes over the famous Maspeth Squash Steel Court and industrial backyard on Saturday, October 10, to celebrate World Squash Day and support Rally28.

Created by Maspeth Squash × Squash Social × Squash Dudes, Steel Rally is a day of welding squash with the magic that happens around it, bringing together players, friends, families, and the wider NYC community for an afternoon and evening celebration of this great sport.

THE LINEUP

1:30 PM - DISCOVER THE STEEL
Get on court and experience the Steel. Whether you’ve played for years or have never picked up a racket, the court will be open throughout the day between the headline events.

2:30 PM - NY VS NY: ONE POINT RALLY OPEN
One point. Winner goes through. A maximum 32-player knockout draw open to anyone who wants to take their shot on the Steel. Enter in advance with a One Point Rally Open ticket or sign up at check-in if spaces remain. First come, first served.

4:30 PM - THE NEXT RALLY: LIVE PANEL
A live conversation bringing together leading voices from across squash, sport and culture to talk about where the game goes next - from community and culture to growing the sport and its road to LA28 and beyond - including

We’ll take the Steel into the night with two DJs, food, drinks and the wider Steel Rally community.

Khalil & Khafagy capture first-ever PSA Challenger Tour $18K titles

PSA SQUASH TOUR KICKS OFF THE 26/27 IN NYC.

The Egyptian duo Salman Khalil and Nour Khafagy made history on the steel court in Maspeth on September 13, 2026, capturing titles at the first-ever Challenger 18-level event on the PSA Squash Tour, the Maspeth Welding Intsel Steel Court Championship 2026.

Early rounds of our new PSA tournament were hosted on the beautiful indoor wood courts at the University Club of New York in Manhattan. The quarters, semis, and finals were hosted at Maspeth Squash on the outdoor steel court. Matches on the weekend ran into the night, under the lights and the starry sky. Our first night match in Maspeth featured Alina Bushma and Nicole Bunyan. Over the weekend, the jumbotron in Maspeth’s industrial backyard played the finals of the US Open Tennis Tournament; children played soccer in the yard; and players, coaches, teammates, and fans crowded in behind the glass to watch the pros perform.

Top seed Khalil dropped only one game on route to the final, beating Sebastien Salazar, Brice Nicholas, and Omar Said to set up a showdown with compatriot and hot prospect Adam Hawal. Khalil lost the opening game to Hawal 14-12 but recovered emphatically to take the next three games 11-4, 11-6, 11-1 in 58 minutes. This was the seventh PSA title for Khalil and his second this season. So far, he is unbeaten on the 26/27 tour.

In the women’s draw, the unseeded Nour Khafagy stormed through the draw, taking out No.4 seed Saran Nghiem before beating Margot Prow to reach the semi-finals. She then defeated top seed Amina El Rihany in four games to set up a final meeting with No.2 seed Alina Bushma. The Ukrainian found herself 2-1 up, then match ball up in the fourth game, but back came Khafagy. She won the fourth 12-10, then captured the decider 11-5 to claim her fourth PSA title.

As we get ready for the 18th Annual StreetSquash Cup, I wanted to reach out personally for your support and encouragement. This year, our Women’s All-Star Team is back, and we have set ourselves an ambitious goal of raising $100,000 for StreetSquash. This year also marks the start of my fifth season at StreetSquash, which makes this fundraiser particularly meaningful to me. Some of the young people I first started coaching four years ago are now thriving in college. Seeing how much they have grown—not only as squash players, but as students and young adults—is a constant reminder of why I love this work and motivates me every day to keep creating these opportunities for the next generation of StreetSquash students.

One of the things I love most about StreetSquash is that we are not simply introducing young people to squash—we are building long-term relationships with our students and families and supporting them throughout middle school, high school, college, and into their next chapter.
