Once September rolls around, the Pros in the later rounds of the Intsel Steel Pro Invitational start to have a whole new season of matches and travel to all corners of the world. Setting up Intsel matches can take longer to find a good date. Nevertheless, the court is ready all year round, and outdoor squash is for all seasons.

Abhishek 6.96 is seeded #4 in Intsel IV. This is Abhi's third Intsel Steel Pro Invitational. Last year Abhishek beat Chris Walker, Babatunde Ajagbe, and Nathan Lake, before losing in the semis to Timmy Brownell. His world ranking is #289. He was born in Mumbai, India.
Babatunde 6.8 is seeded 5th in this year's Intsel Steel Outdoor Squash Pro Invitational. He is a Squash Professional and coach based in Westchester, NY. He has been playing on the PSA World Tour for 14 years and is currently ranked #227. Babatunde was born Nigeria.

Alex 6.36 is playing in her first Intsel Steel Outdoor Squash Pro Invitational. She was ranked #69 in the world at the beginning of this tournament in June and is the 4th seed. She has won the Australian National Junior Squash Championships on seven occasions with all of them being on a consecutive basis from 2013 to 2019. She began playing the sport of squash at the age of eight in the Clare Squash Club and her interest in squash emerged as a result of the support she received from her parents and her entire family. She relocated to Adelaide as a junior and eventually joined the Squash Australia's Junior Development Squad. She won her first Junior National Championship title in 2013 and rose to prominence within a year by making it to the Australian team for both the Oceania Junior Championships and Trans-Tasman Test Series at the age of twelve. Hannah 6.1 is seeded #6 in this year's Intsel Steel Tournament and was ranked #84 in the world at the beginning of play in June. Hannah is currently a Squash Professional with Open Squash in NYC and plays on the PSA World Tour. Here's more info from Open Squash's site: "Hannah hails from Ireland, where she was the 2017 Senior National Champion at the age of 17, and boasted the highest Under-19 European ranking of #2. She is a 4-time Irish Junior National Champion, 3-time Irish Junior Open Champion, and the first Irish woman in history to win the French Junior Open U-19! Hannah was captain of the women’s squash team at Harvard, where she worked with our own Mike Way to coach weekly squash clinics and summer camps. In her time on the Harvard women’s team, she went undefeated with a record of 41-0. Not bad! Now, Hannah is excited to be competing on the PSA World Tour—and for Ireland again—for her first full season. When not on the PSA tour, we are delighted to say Hannah will be coaching at Open Squash."

Laila 5.58 is playing her first Intsel Steel Pro Invitational and upset Lucy Beecroft, the number one seed in her first match. She joined the Tour in 2019, and reached the quarter-finals of her first two events as a professional, doing so at the Richmond Open and the MTC Squash Russian Open. She then made her debut at a Platinum event at the FS Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships later that year, before reaching the quarter-finals of the Seattle Open at the start of 2020, breaking into the top 100 in the World Rankings. Laila is currently ranked #236 in PSA Rankings.
Karina 5.28 is currently pursuing a master's degree in Public Policy at Drexel University after graduating from Drexel with a BA in Political Science in June 2023. A three-year captain for the varsity women's squash team at Drexel University and finished the 2022/23 college squash season with First Team All-American honors. A 7-time Polish National Champion and a member of the national squash team. She has been ranked in the top 100 on the PSA World Tour.

Nicole 6.08 is ranked in the top 50 in the world. Not only a top player on the world stage, Nicole is a leading voice in squash entertainment, health, and fitness. She is a sought after coach. This is Nicole's fourth Instel Steel Outdoor Squash Tournament. In Intsel I, Nicole lost to Nathan Lake. There was one mixed draw. In Intsel II, Ineta Mackevica Hopton beat Nicole in the semis, and went on to win. Last year, Alina Bushma beat Nicole and won the women's draw. Nicole is the #2 seed in this year's tournament.
Min Jie 5.93 is Assistant Squash Professional at the storied Heights Casino in Brooklyn, home to many of the greatest New York squash players for decades. She continues to play on the PSA World Tour. Teh Min Jie broke into the world's top 100 female squash players list in 2014 and achieved her career best ranking of 55 in March 2017 during the 2017 PSA World Tour. Teh Min Jie was also the member of the Malaysian squash team which emerged as the champions in the Asian Squash Team Championships in 2016. She played for Trinity College's Varsity Squash Team and was named All-American by the College Squash Association.

Jaymie 6.52 is Squash Professional at The New York Athletic Club. This is Jaymie's fourth Intsel Tourney. He lost in the semi finals to Nathan Lake in the first Intsel Steel Outdoor Pro Squash Invitational in 2021. Jaymie lost to Shahjahan Khan last year. It is said that Jaymie plays the steel court drives and lengths like no other player. He has been Top 50 PSA world ranked, was winner of 5 PSA world tour titles, and he won the U.K national racketball championship in 2013. Jaymie is an England Squash level 3 advanced coach with 20 years squash, racketball, hardball doubles coaching experience ranging from beginners to professional players. He is currently a top ranked player on the SDA Pro Tour (hardball doubles). Jaymie was born in Shrewsbury, UK.
Peter 6.89 is playing in his first Instel Steel Outdoor Squash Pro Invitational, and his first match is against a friend and fellow squash professional working in New York City, Jaymie Haycocks. Peter is the Director of Squash at Open Squash Mid-Town. Here's more from the Open Squash Bio: Welshman Peter Creed has forged a reputation as one of the most energetic and exciting players to watch on the PSA World Tour. Training under the tutelage of six-time British Open Champion Jonah Barrington, he achieved a career high of #50 on the PSA World Tour, and captured 8 PSA titles and 9 national titles.
Peter was a key member of the Welsh team that finished 3rd at the 2019 WSF Men’s World Team Championship. He has competed in three Commonwealth Games, won a World Double Bronze medal, and represented Wales more than 150 times.

Mohamed 6.53. is ranked #10 in this year's Intsel Steel Pro Invitational. Mo helped produce the first PSA Squash Tour Tournament on the steel court in July 2023, The Maspeth Open, won by Aqeel Rehman from Austria. Here's more about Mohamed from SquashRX - Hailing from Alexandria, Egypt, Mohamed was a member of the Egyptian Junior Men's National Team. As a professional, he is the winner of 4 PSA titles and a US Squash Level 2 Coach. With 9 years of coaching experience in the NYC area and a number of pupils now competing on top college teams, Mohamed was named Head Squash Professional at SquashRx in September, 2020. He is focused on building a center of excellence at our downtown location where players of all ages and ability levels can receive world class training. Mohamed's passion for squash is contagious and he prides himself in the care he takes with helping each of his students excel.
Callan 6.8 is ranked #7 this year. This will be his first Intstel Steel Tournament match. Callan is an electrical engineer with Pure Power Engineering. He graduated from Columbia University Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences where he was a leader of the Varsity Squash team. Callan grew up in South Africa.

Alina 6.17 is the defending champion of the 2023 Intsel Steel Pro Invitational. She defeated Marina Stefanoni in last year's final. Alina is seeded #5 in this year's Intsel IV. Her world ranking is #77.
Ineta 5.68 won the Intsel Steel Outdoor Squash Pro Invitational in 2022, defeating Marina Stefanoni in the finals. In 2023, Ineta lost to Alina Bushma in the semis. Alina went on the win Intsel III. Originally from Latvia, Ineta is currently ranked #60 in the world.

Joanne 4.92 is playing in her first Intsel Steel Outdoor Squash Pro Invitational. She is the newly elected President of NY Squash, the non-profit that runs leagues and tournaments in NYC and nurtures our growing squash culture in universities, clubs, non-profits, and at Maspeth Squash. NY Squash has been a main sponsor of the Intsel Steel Summer Exhibition Pro Tournament from the beginning! More about Joanne from the StreetSquash website: Born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa, Joanne loved playing sports her entire life. She grew up playing cricket, field hockey, squash and tennis. She played on South Africa’s national junior teams for both squash and tennis as a senior in High School. Joanne achieved her dream of coming to the U.S. by attending Indiana State University on a tennis scholarship. She went on to graduate with a degree in Exercise Science. Post college, she went on to coach squash and tennis at Trinity College, before ultimately working as a squash coach for Columbia University for nine years. She went on to receive a Master’s at Columbia in Applied Physiology. Joanne loves playing all racket sports. She also enjoys cycling and walking her dog. She’s in the process of learning to play guitar and speak Spanish.

TJ 6.74 is seeded #8 in this year's Intsel Steel Outdoor Squash Pro Invitation, his first Intsel Tourney. He is a member of the University Club of NY and a star of the NSL. Here's more about TJ from the NSL site: Height: 6' 4", Strength: Backhand, Plays: Right-Handed, College: Yale, AGE:28 Style and Personality: TJ is known in the NSL for his penetrating length, especially on the backhand wing. He might not have much of a short game, but his size and strength make up for it. His drive is threatening in the mid-court on both sides and he’s not afraid to get physical on the big points. He captured the 2016 CSA National Team Championship, is a 2 time collegiate All-American, and was Captain of Yale Varsity squash in 2017. TJ is a highly social character who loves to have a chat after the match and hit the local joints with his team mates in whatever city he finds himself in. He prides himself on his style sense and enjoys a chill weekend in Newport, RI with his family. Yassin 6.56 is a Coach at Pyramid Squash in Tuckahoe, NY, working with his father Gamal and brother Karim. In last year's Intsel III tourney, Yassin beat Richard Chin, Spencer Lovejoy, and Wil Hagen to reach the semis, where he lost a fantastic 5 game match to Shahjahan Khan, 11/8 in the fifth. In this year's Intsel IV, Yassin overcame the scoring handicap to beat venerable Chris Walker in a dramatic five game match on the steel court.

Lucy 6.18 is the number one seed in this year's Intsel Steel Pro Invitational. This is her third Intsel Steel Tournament. She lost to Marina Stefanoni last year and the year before that. Lucy had an outstanding 2023/2024 year on the PSA World Tour and is currently ranked #20 in the world! She plays for England and makes NYC her home. Lucy is a leader who is growing the sport wherever she goes.

Nathan 7.58 is the #1 seed in the Intsel Steel Pro Invitational this year, as he has been for four years now. Nathan was the first PSA World Tour Pro to reach out to Maspeth Squash during the early months of covid in 2020 to show his pioneering spirit and support outdoor squash for the future of the sport. Nathan won the inaugural Intsel Steel Tournament in 2020, taking home the entire year 1 purse of $5000. There's a good story here. Ask Nathan about it. At the beginning of this year's tournament, Nathan was ranked #28 in the world. He is truly one of the most buttoned up, competitive, and cordial pros on the tour. He shares his experiences with friends and fans through his newsletters and website and his approachable and engaging style at tournaments. Nathan even volunteers to help clean the court before matches in Maspeth.
Travis 6.11 is the Head Squash Professional at the University Club of NY. Previously, he was Head Squash Professional at The Creek on LI and Assistant Squash Professional at The Apawamis Club. Travis is a top ranked doubles SDA pro. He played for legendary Trinity College varsity teams. Travis is itching to take a game off of Nathan in this match up. He almost got a game off of Timmy Brownell in last year's tournament. With the right handicap, he might just do it this year.

Haley 6.13 reached a career high of #36 in the world in December 2021. After earning her MBA at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Haley has transitioned to life as a maternal health business leader as Chief of Staff and Head of Strategic Initiatives at Cayaba Care. Haley has been a leading supporter of outdoor squash since we first started playing on the steel court in 2020. Her guidance and advice helps us improve the playing experiences for pros participating in our special summer tournaments.

Brecon 5.75 is a College Squash Association (CSA) Scholar-Athlete and plays on the Harvard University Varsity Squash Team. This is Brecon's first Intsel Steel Outdoor Squash Pro Invitational. Brecon was the 2014 US Junior National Champion.

Travis 6.11 is the Head Squash Professional at the University Club of NY. Previously, he was Head Squash Professional at The Creek on LI and Assistant Squash Professional at The Apawamis Club. Travis is a top ranked doubles SDA pro. He played for legendary Trinity College varsity teams.
Josh 6.15 just got married! Josh is the Squash Professional at the Racquet and Tennis Club in New York City, an historic rival of the University Club a few blocks away. Josh played Varsity Squash for Drexel University. He grew up learning squash at Berwyn Squash and Fitness, his family's business. Berwyn Squash Club opened in 1973 as the first commercial squash club in the United States. Here is a great story about Berwyn. Josh is currently ranked #6 in the open division of the SDA Pro Doubles League. And he often plays with Travis as his partner.

Spencer 7.13 plays for US Squash's elite team. He has a world ranking of #66. Spencer is founder of the NSL with Timmy Brownell. He is an outdoor squash pioneer. This is his fourth Intsel Steel Tournament.
Andrew 6.35 is currently a med student at The Donald & Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He is ranked #24 in the SDA Pro Tour. Andrew was Academic All-Ivy and CSA Scholar Athlete during his years playing on the Cornell University Squash Team.

Will 5.77 joined CitySquash as a staff member in 2022. He is an alum of the program, having graduated in 2020. As assistant director of squash, he is responsible for designing and leading squash practices for elementary, middle, and high school team members. His role is to develop a passion for squash for the entire program. Will graduated from Fordham University in 2020, where he majored in Economics. While at Fordham, Will played on the varsity squash team and also worked and learned how to coach at Westchester Squash Academy where he was the assistant pro for 5 years. Will was born in the Bronx and currently resides in Queens.

Timmy 7.19 is the #2 seed in this year's Intsel IV Outdoor Squash Pro Invitational. Timmy won Intsel II over Jaymie Haycocks and will play Shahjahan Khan in the long awaited final of Intsel III on 7/22/24 at 11:30 am. Timmy was ranked #36 in the world at the beginning of this tournament. He won the SL Green USA Championship earlier this year and is the number one ranked player in the USA. Timmy is a founder of the innovative and exciting NSL, the new professional squash league, and is heartily sponsored by Maspeth Squash.
Karim 6.08 is Squash Coach at Pyramid Squash in Tuckahoe, NY. Karim beat Peter Yuen in the first round of this year's tournament in five games, and defeated Ned Marks in four games in the second round. Karim has played in all four Intsel Steel Outdoor Squash Pro Invitationals.

Gabriella 5.62 is Squash Professional with Corner Squash Academy and the Head Coach of the Spence JV Team. Gabriella is originally from Hungary. Last year was Gabriella's first Intsel Tournament. She beat Latifa Mohamed and lost to Ineta Mackevica Hopton. Gabriella has a masters degree in Tourism and Management.

Chris 5.85 is the Head Pro at the River Club in NY. He is a great leader in our growing our sport in singles and doubles around the world. Chris has been the Coach of India's National Team for the past few years. His accomplishments are truly impressive. (click here)

Haley 6.13 reached a career high of #36 in the world in December 2021. After earning her MBA at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Haley has transitioned to life as a maternal health business leader as Chief of Staff and Head of Strategic Initiatives at Cayaba Care.
Eva 5.26 won US Junior Squash National Championships in both GU11 and GU13 categories. More recently, she scored an impressive win in this year's Hyder Cup over Guatemala’s Mary Mijas, losing only five points in the entire match.
