Heading to the Steel Court – And a Quick Tour Recap!

The weather is finally warming up, and I hope everyone is packing their hats, sunglasses, and squash rackets, and heading down to the only outdoor steel court in New York! While you're making your way to Queens, I want to share a little update about my recent adventures on the PSA Tour.

Vancouver, Canada – A Warm Welcome and Tough Matches

March 2025 turned out to be my busiest month yet, with four tournaments back-to-back across different parts of the world.I kicked things off in Vancouver, Canada, at the Copper Richardson Wealth Women’s PSA Open. Honestly, Canada is one of my favorite places to play—everyone is incredibly welcoming and excited to support the pros. I had a tough second-round loss to Melissa Alves, the eventual champion, in four close games. Even though I felt like I was playing some of my best squash, Melissa showed why she’s a top-20 player, especially with her consistency during the critical points. It was an amazing learning experience, and I even had some extra days afterward to explore the beautiful city!

Calgary, Canada – Dreams in the Rockies

Next up: Calgary! A huge thank you to my wonderful host family, the Heatons, for making me feel so at home. Before the tournament started, I visited Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains — absolutely breathtaking. For a moment, I almost considered skipping the tournament to go snowboarding because the snow was so fresh and the mountains were calling my name! Instead, I settled for a relaxing soak in the natural hot springs before getting down to business at the Calgary CFO Consulting Services PSA Women's Squash Week 2025.

Coming in unseeded, I battled my way to the finals, defeating top players like Hannah Craig, Hollie Naughton, Saran Nghiem, and Grace Gear. It was one of the proudest moments of my career so far! Even though I ran out of gas in the final and lost to Jasmine Hutton, reaching the final made it an unforgettable week.

Washington, D.C. – Finding Strength with Friends

There was no time to rest—straight to Washington, D.C., for The St. James Open 2025 by The Khan Foundation. After two intense weeks, I was grateful to stay with my college roommate, which gave me a much-needed mental reset. In a surprising turn, I got a bye into the final because my semifinal opponent, Noa Romero, unfortunately broke her nose during the quarters. In the final, I faced Jana Safy, Trinity College’s #1 player. After a five-game battle filled with outrageous shots and energy swings, I came out with the win, securing my second PSA title and reaching my highest world ranking of #62!
And guess what? Right after the trophy ceremony, I rushed straight to the airport!

Madrid, Spain – Pushing Through Jet Lag

After an overnight flight to Madrid, I barely had a day to adjust before stepping onto the court for the Spanish Open 2025. Despite the jet lag, I won my first-round match against Nour Megahed in straight games. In the second round, I faced the #1 seed, Lucy Turmel. I fought hard and kept it close but ultimately lost in three. Honestly, the mental fatigue from traveling nonstop caught up with me here, but it was another valuable lesson learned.

Of course, no trip to Madrid would be complete without trying Spanish tapas and vermouth! I also made time to explore the Royal Palace—the largest functioning palace in Europe—and the stunning Catedral de la Almudena with its beautiful Neo-Gothic interiors.

 Wrapping Up a Wild Month

March 2025 was one of the craziest, most challenging, and most rewarding months of my squash journey so far. From the west coast of North America to the heart of Europe, from tough losses to title wins, from sleepless flights to mountain hot springs recovery—I lived a true squash life on the road. I learned so much about myself, my game, and the resilience it takes to chase your dreams. And I know there’s still so much more ahead.
