Lucie Stefanoni claimed her first Challenger event title with victory at the Maspeth Welding Steel Court Championship 2026.

Playing on the unique outdoor steel court in Flushing, New York, the young American – sister of World No.14 Marina Stefanoni – made a dominant start to her week, not dropping a game in her first two matches. A 3-1 success over No.1 seed Laila Sedky then saw her through to the final, where second seed Nour Megahed awaited. Once again, Stefanoni made an impressive start, winning games one and two 11-7, 11-6, and while Megahed kept her hopes alive with a 12-10 win in game three, the American held her nerve to close out glory in the fourth.

As things would have it, Lucie’s older sister, Marina Stefanoni, finally got her name stamped into the one and only Intsel Steel Pro Invitational Trophy in her third attempt at a Final victory, after defeating first-time contender Caroline Fouts in the women’s final of the $40K Intsel 5 Steel V Pro Invitational.
